Hi, I'm Ryan. While my home base is Ohio, I live for anywhere and everywhere planet Earth can take me. I used to make YouTube videos on my travels, but this blog is where that habit lives now.

To me, travel is about perspective. You grow up assuming the way things work where you're from is just how things work everywhere, until you go somewhere else and realize how untrue that is. Every trip I’ve taken has chipped away at that assumption little by little. That's the part I keep chasing.

I'm not really a "top 10 things to do" kind of writer. I'd rather tell you what a place actually felt like — from the good empanadas to the tuk-tuk driver who introduced me to half of Barichara, Colombia. And then I let the historical and cultural context earn its way into the story instead of sitting in a sidebar.
